CHORUS CELEBRATES TENTH ANNIVERSARY

The London Gay Men’s Chorus Spring 2001 concert will be, ‘From the Ritz to the Anchor and Crown’, at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. The concert not only launches the 10th Anniversary Celebrations of the Chorus, but also their new CD, also called ‘From the Ritz to the Anchor and Crown’.

The concert repertoire will be the usual mix of music, comedy and dance, encompassing everything from Classical to Kylie, Faure to folk song and Sondheim to a few surprises!

The 110-strong London Gay Men’s Chorus is Britain’s largest and most high profile gay choir, and they have performed everywhere from Top of the Pops to the opening ceremony of the Millennium Dome, and in summer 2000 undertook their first ever US Tour. They also made it through to the televised semi-finals of last year’s national Choir of the Year Competition. Later this year they will be performing as part of the Artangel project ‘Because I Sing’ at The Roundhouse in north London, and marking their 10th anniversary with a series of concerts and events around the UK.

The CD ‘From The Ritz to the Anchor and Crown’ is the second CD release from the chorus, and contains audience favourites from the last 3 years, including ‘Not a Day Goes By’, ‘It’s Raining Men’ and ‘Barbie Girl’.
